Jet Williams is a writer from Sydney. His debut novel Off the Rails documents the unseen world beneath the city through the eyes of a fifteen-year-old boy drawn into graffiti and urban exploration.

The book was turned down by traditional publishers for being "too risky." Mutt Books picked it up. It has since sold out multiple times across Australia and internationally.

Before writing, Williams spent years travelling, making art, and building things that mostly didn't work. He hitchhiked across America, trainsurfed through the Sahara, and documented it all under a pseudonym. He eventually returned home to Sydney, broke and in debt. One night, unable to sleep, he opened the Notes app on his iPhone and began writing in bed.

That night became Off the Rails.

A film adaptation is currently in development.
